Prior Authorization (PA) Process
In some situations a certain drug requires Prior Authorization (PA) by the patient’s insurance. Prior Authorization means the patient’s physician will need to submit a Prior Authorization request form to OSRx for the approval of the medication(s) before it can be filled under the member’s benefits. Typically, most insurances take 48-72 hours to approve the request. If approved, the member will pay the appropriate amount based on their benefit plan. If denied, the member can still purchase the drug. However, the drug will not be covered under the member’s benefit plan and the member is responsible for the full cost. OSRx will notify you and the patient for of any decisions.
